Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Neurohospitalist.

The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is proud to announce the opening of a new position as a Neurohospitalist in the distinguished Neurology Program. This program is recruiting applicants interested to join a team that is continuously growing and looking for the next clinical and research breakthroughs. The neurohospitalists will have a team of residents to work with to provide care for both patients admitted to the general neurology inpatient service. The successful candidate will have completed ACGME accredited neurology residency. Candidates with additional training or experience in hospital neurology or stroke are additionally welcome. Candidates should be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neurology. This is a full-time faculty position. The predominant criteria include: excellence in clinical care, a strong desire to teach, and a commitment to research and scholarly activity that advances the field of medicine. There will be opportunities to participate in quality improvement, patient safety and utilization review within the department and institutionally. There will be opportunities to advance telehealth initiatives.

The Department of Neurological Sciences has more than 100 faculty belonging to 12 sections and research laboratories as well as 25 APPs. The hospital has 603 beds, and the neurology department has general, epilepsy, neuromuscular, neuroimmunology, stroke, and neurocritical care inpatient and consult services. Faculty members are actively engaged in clinical care, research and education of 50 residents and fellows.
