The Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Neurohospitalist to join our expanding inpatient neurology service.
This physician will provide comprehensive inpatient neurological care, including consultative and primary management of patients with a wide range of acute neurological conditions. The position supports a high-acuity, tertiary care hospital environment with strong subspecialty collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead inpatient care on the general neurology and consult services; vascular neurology fellowship trained candidates will have opportunity to provide care on stroke and telestroke service lines.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and complex neurological conditions, including stroke, seizures, encephalopathy, demyelinating and autoimmune disease, brain and spinal cord tumors, and neuromuscular crises.
- Collaborate closely with subspecialists across disciplines including vascular neurology, neurocritical care, epilepsy, and neurosurgery.
- Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care.
- Focused and limited outpatient responsibilities to include post-hospital discharge clinic, supervision of resident continuity clinic, and fellow clinics.
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Educate trainees including residents, fellows, and medical students across various departments.
- Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities.

Qualifications
- MD or DO, or equivalent.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology.
- Completion of Neurology residency; fellowship training in Neurohospitalist care or related subspecialty preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical care and teamwork.
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Florida.
